Your game. Your information.

Privacy policy

How information is used when you play Nova Town, join online co-op, or visit this privacy page.

Effective and last updated:

1. Who publishes Nova Town?

Nova Town is published by Balram Mahaveer Thakur, an individual publisher. This policy explains my handling of information through the game and this privacy website. For questions or privacy requests, contact balramthakur159@gmail.com.

Poki and Unity also process information in connection with their services. Their policies, linked below, explain their own practices.

2. Information used by the game

Local game saves

Nova Town stores progress and preferences in local device or browser storage. This includes unlocked missions, in-game credits and stars, owned and selected pilots or robots, colony layouts and checkpoints, tutorial choices, game statistics, and your co-op nickname. These saves let you continue playing and keep your selections. The game does not provide a cloud-save feature for this progress.

Optional online co-op

Opening the online co-op feature connects to Unity Gaming Services. Unity Authentication signs you in anonymously and assigns a player identifier. Authentication credentials are cached so the game can reconnect. “Anonymous” means you do not enter an email address or password; identifiers and network information may still be personal data.

Online rooms use your player identifier, chosen nickname, pilot and robot selections, ready status, and unlocked mission level. Room information includes membership, room visibility, an invite code where applicable, and the selected mission. During play, the game exchanges player actions, movement, and world state so everyone sees the same session.

Players in your room can see your nickname, selections, readiness, and gameplay activity. Public rooms can be found through the game's room-discovery features; private rooms use an invite code. Do not include your real name, contact details, or other personal information in your nickname. The game does not include player text or voice chat.

Technical information

The online services receive connection information such as IP addresses and request details needed to deliver, secure, diagnose, and maintain their services. Service SDKs may also send operational diagnostics. This information supports authentication, room management, connection routing, and reliable gameplay.

3. Services and sharing

  • Unity Gaming Services: Authentication, multiplayer session rooms, and Relay connect players and carry multiplayer traffic. See Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy and Unity Authentication's privacy information.
  • Poki: When you play on Poki, its platform and SDK handle platform functions, game-loading and gameplay signals, and advertising. Poki and its partners may use cookies, identifiers, and device or usage information as described in the Poki Privacy Statement. Use Poki's privacy controls for its platform choices.
  • Cloudflare: This privacy website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes web requests and related network information to deliver and protect the site. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

I use information for the game features described here, responding to requests, and protecting the service. I do not sell player information. Information may also be disclosed when necessary to comply with applicable law or address misuse and security incidents. Service providers operate internationally, so processing may take place outside your country; their policies explain relevant arrangements.

4. Storage and retention

Local saves and cached credentials remain on your device until you clear them, the browser or device removes them, or the game replaces them. Clearing site data can erase your progress and access to an anonymous player identity.

Unity retains authentication records until they are deleted through its account-deletion processes. Room, connection, and diagnostic information is handled according to the relevant service's operation and retention practices. Ending a session does not necessarily erase service logs.

If you contact me, I retain the information needed to handle your request and any applicable recordkeeping obligations. There is no single retention period for every type of information; retention depends on the purpose, service, and legal requirements.

5. Your choices and privacy requests

You can play solo without entering online co-op. Poki's platform processing still applies when playing on Poki. You can change your nickname, leave multiplayer rooms, and manage local storage through your browser or device settings.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal data, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact balramthakur159@gmail.com to make a request relating to Nova Town. You may also have a right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

For an anonymous multiplayer account, contact me before clearing your browser data if you want help with server-side deletion. Clearing local storage alone does not delete Unity's records. I may need information to locate the correct player record and verify the request; if the identity cannot be recovered, it may not be possible to link a request to that record. Never send passwords or authentication tokens by email.

For information controlled directly by Poki, Unity, or Cloudflare, their privacy policies explain how to contact them and exercise choices.

6. Children and parents

Nova Town does not ask players to provide their real name, date of birth, telephone number, or precise location. Players should keep personal details out of nicknames. Parents or guardians who have questions about a child's information, or wish to request its deletion, can contact me using the address below. Requests involving anonymous accounts may require help identifying the relevant record.

7. This privacy website

This is a static information page. I have not added analytics scripts, advertising, account forms, or application cookies to it. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, browser and request information, and security logs while hosting and protecting the website. Following an external link takes you to that provider's website and its privacy practices.

8. Updates and contact

I may update this policy when game features, service providers, or privacy practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
